Get 'Er Dunn shows you what your screen time is costing you. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, and what control you have. It is written by the people who built the app, and it describes the app as it ships today.

What we collect

If you do not sign in, the app works entirely on your device. Your Screen Time data, your Health data, your buckets, goals and settings all stay on your iPhone and are never sent to us. There is no account to create to use the app.

If you sign in with Apple, we store the following in your account:

• An account identifier from Apple. Apple gives us an anonymous identifier for you. If you choose to hide your email, we only ever see Apple's private relay address — never your real one.
• Daily app usage. For each day: the app's bundle identifier (for example com.example.social), its display name, time spent, times opened, and notifications received. These are daily totals — never what you did inside an app, and never hour-by-hour detail.
• Your buckets. Which apps you placed in Positive, Negative or Neutral, and which apps you linked to a goal.
• Your goals. Each goal's name, unit, monthly target or per-day target, how far along it is this month, and — for a Health goal — which Health measure it tracks (steps, walking/running distance or exercise minutes). Only the goal's running total is stored, not the underlying Health samples.
• Your streak. The count of consecutive days you finished under your scroll time, and your longest run.
• Your settings. Your hourly rate, daily scroll time, reminder interval, and the "Earn Scroll Time" rule (the movement goal, the measure it uses, and the bonus minutes it grants).
• A device record. An identifier we generate for your installation, plus the device type, so usage from multiple devices stays separate.

Apple Health

Two optional features read from Apple Health, and only when you turn them on: Health goals (walk a number of steps, cover a distance, or log exercise minutes over the month) and Earn Scroll Time (a step goal or closing your Apple Watch Move ring adds bonus scroll time for that day).

• The app reads steps, walking and running distance, exercise minutes and Activity ring progress. It reads only; it never writes to Health.
• Health data is read on your iPhone and is never uploaded. The raw samples never leave the device.
• What the app keeps is derived: a goal's monthly total in its own units (for example, 187,420 steps) and the bonus minutes you earned today. If you are signed in, the goal's monthly total syncs to your account with your other goals, so the Account page and your other devices show the same progress and you can follow a goal over time. Bonus minutes stay on the device. We use this total for nothing but showing you your goal — never for advertising, and it is never shared or sold.
• You can revoke access at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps, and the app keeps working without it.

Screen Time and blocking

The app uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings) to read how long apps were used and, only for the apps you choose, to show a pause screen or a block once you are past your scroll time. This works on your own device and your own data; there is no way to see or manage another person's device. Apple provides usage as totals — the app never sees the contents of your apps, messages or browsing.

App Intentions (per-app open limits) and the In-Flight Pass are enforced entirely on the device; nothing about them is sent to us.

Your account and why it exists

Apple keeps roughly a month of Screen Time history on your device. Storing your daily totals in your account (every app's on iPhones in the EU, where Apple shares usage with apps; the picked apps' minutes elsewhere) is what lets you see months or years of history later, and it lets the History page on this website show the same figures the app shows. Your buckets, goals, streak and settings are stored so they follow you if you reinstall the app or get a new phone, and so the Account page can show and change them.

Signing out simply stops syncing; it does not delete anything.

Payments and sign-in

• In the app, Get 'Er Dunn Pro is an Apple in-app purchase. Apple handles payment; we never see or store your payment details. To confirm the purchase, the app sends us Apple's signed transaction, which we verify and record as your subscription status and renewal date.
• On this website, Pro can be bought through Stripe. Stripe holds your card details under its own privacy policy; we store a Stripe customer identifier, the subscription's status and its renewal date, and nothing about the card.
• Sign in with Apple is the only way to sign in, on the phone and on the web. We keep the anonymous identifier and relay email Apple issues.

Demo Mode

Demo Mode fills the app with sample data so every feature can be seen without waiting for real Screen Time to accrue. The samples are fictional, are generated on the device, and are never uploaded. Turning it off returns you to your own data.

What we never do

• We never sell or rent your data.
• We never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites, and the app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs.
• We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
• We do not read the contents of your apps, your messages, or your browsing — only how long apps were used, which is what Apple's Screen Time provides.
• We do not upload Health data.

How it is protected

• All traffic between the app, this website and our servers uses HTTPS.
• Data is encrypted at rest by our database provider.
• Every request is checked server-side so your data is only ever returned to your own authenticated account.
• Our logs record which requests happened, never the usage data itself.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your usage history, coverage records, buckets, goals, streak, settings, subscription record and device records, and cancels any web subscription. It cannot be undone, and we keep no shadow copy.

You can also email support@get-erdunn.com and we will delete your account for you.

Data retention

We keep your synced history until you delete it, because its usefulness is the long-term record. Deleting your account removes it immediately.

Children

Get 'Er Dunn is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Third parties

We use Apple (Sign in with Apple, Screen Time, Health and in-app purchase), Stripe (web payments only), and a hosting and database provider to run our service. They process data on our behalf under their own security obligations. We share your data with no one else.

To show an app's icon, the app asks Apple's public App Store lookup service for the icon that goes with an app's bundle identifier. Only the identifier is sent — no account, device or usage information — and the icons are cached on the phone.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and note the change in the app.
